UNSW Library is seeking a professional librarian who is keen to join a professional team of outreach librarians who deliver and manage the relationships between the Library and faculty and research staff of the University.  
A key priority of the Information Services Department is to build relationships with academic staff, academic units and postgraduate students to more accurately identify needs and to develop innovative and responsive services and products to meet them.

To be successful in this role: 
  • You will have relevant professional qualifications and you will be able to demonstrate a great ability to influence and sustain relationships with a large and varied cohort of clients.  
  • You will have the determination to deliver successful projects and the curiosity to seek new ways for the Library to offer its services.  It will be important for you to have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

We have three opportunities for customer focussed and passionate professionals to join
three of our libraries respectively based at Wynnum, Brisbane Square and Ashgrove.
The position at Brisbane Square is available for 30 hours per week while the vacancies
 at Wynnum and Ashgrove are full time positions.
Brisbane City Council's public libraries are hubs of our community. They exist to
strengthen local communities through services and activities, centred around information,
learning, children’s literacy and leisure. In partnership with the community, our library
staff deliver a range of learning programs which foster a love of reading.

As a Librarian, you will play a vital role in ensuring high standards of library services
are initiated and delivered.   Your experience in face to face customer focused services
will create a positive experience for our library customers. You will be comfortable and
confident with public speaking as you introduce guest speakers, including visiting authors.
Applying your enthusiasm and energy will enable you to deliver a range of proactive services,
including programs, reading, learning and outreach activities. Providing support to your team
leader to achieve key Library Services objectives will be crucial. As we continue to deliver
our online virtual reading services, we value candidates who are confident with a range of
IT products and services.
