Data Entry Through LibSys and KOHA Software

Webel Informatics Limited (WIL) is entrusted to undertake the Job of Bibliographic Data Entry for the Books stored in 24 District and 83 Town Libraries throughout the state. The work would be done using Software Package LibSys for District Libraries and KOHA based software interface for Town Libraries. Interested candidates having Library Science background (B.Lib or equivalent) may apply for the Contractual & Project Specific job as ‘OPERATOR’ / ‘VALIDATOR’ to the respective Librarian of District and Town Libraries by 25th February,2016 with full CV. Applicants having 5-7 years work experience in similar type of job would be preferred as Validator. Selected candidates will have to work under Agency selected by WIL to execute the project work.

Objectives

• To introduce the Linux operating system to the participants.
• To acquaint the participants with the installation of Koha on PC
• To provide extensive hands-on-training to the participants so as to enable them to work independently
• To equip the participants for managing Koha at institutions with large collections

Target Audience
The Workshop will be of immense benefit to LIS professionals working in any type of library. The number of participants is restricted to 20 and admission will be strictly on a first-come-first-served basis. Extensive practical sessions/hands-on-training, enriched with interactive sessions will be the hallmark of the Workshop.

Workshop Faculty
The Workshop will be handled by person with extensive practical experience in Linux and Koha.
Registration Fee 
General Candidate: Rs. 1000.00 including VAT
Deputed Candidate: Rs. 2000.00 including VAT
The fee covers the cost of workshop kit, course materials, lunch and tea.

Mode of Payment
The fee should be paid in the form of Demand Draft or local Cheque drawn in favour of Indian Statistical Institute, and payable at Kolkata.
